17-18 MAY 2000 Unique Conveyancing Software launched at Legal Tech Exhibition

A new technology, developed by a Brighton-based Internet agency, will revolutionise conveyancing by breaking down communication barriers between solicitors and their clients. The software, known as PropertyProgress, is designed to make each step of conveyancing progress visible to the fee earner, the front desk, and the client via the Internet. It promises to give hope to all those people who have suffered the stress of buying or selling a house

By accessing a secure web page, you can now see each step of the process and the stage that your purchase or sale is at. You will instantly know what action is required, and what is causing any delay- giving you vital information and, importantly, time. Solicitor's correspondence is also made visible, and you can keep in contact with them via e-mail and memos.

Solicitors can also view and update matters, identify the action required and send e-mails, adding value and integrity to the service- essential for solicitors in today's competitive environment.

PropertyProgress is the result of a collaboration between Burt Brill & Cardens- a solicitors firm with over 100 years experience- and Nexus Internet Solutions Ltd- an established web development company who specialise in innovative online applications. David Edwards, of Burt, Brill and Cardens, explains that PropertyProgress was developed to increase client satisfaction and improve upon the traditional system of conveyancing. "Our company saw the opportunity to use new technology to keep our clients informed, which historically solicitors have less able to do" he said.

Other features that promise to make life easier include automatic reminders via e-mail, customisable progress steps, and a clear and user-friendly interface.
