E-mail

E-mail is often the most confusing aspect of purchasing a Website for our clients because of the array of technical terms used by ISPs.

If you are not yet ready to build your website, you may still want to use your domain name for email (eg-sales@acme-string.com). There are two options available:

E-mail forwarding

If you already have another E-mail address, eg- steve123@yahoo.com, we can arrange for any E-mails that were sent to sales@acme-string.com to arrive to your existing account. This is called E-mail forwarding. The E-mail comes into our server and our E-mail server software will redirect it untouched. With a slight adjustment to your E-mail program you could change the reply address to sales@acme-string.com. The advantage of E-mail forwarding is that you can have many domains all forwarding to the same mailbox.

POP3 mailboxes

A POP3 mailbox is used if you have no E-mail account at all, or you wish different people in your organisation to have their own private E-mail addresses with a unique username and password. For example:

• sales@acme-string.com
• service@acme-string.com
• steve@acme-string.com

These two systems can be combined so that if steve@acme-string.com was the sales manager the E-mail sales@acme-string.com could also be forwarded to his mailbox. Click here for pricing.
